FORT RECOVERY - Jeff Hobbs still has to commute 37 miles each way to work, but he feels at home in Fort Recovery.
"I have a totally good feel for the area," said Hobbs, new principal at Fort Recovery High School. Citing family values, a strong athletic tradition, and educational experiences, he added, "It's everything my wife and I are all about. ... We were looking for a great place to raise our family."
Currently, his wife Carol and their children, Jackson, Alexis, and Kurtis, are still living in Sidney.
But the family plans to move to Fort Recovery after selling their home.
Hobbs was principal at Sidney High School for the 2006-2007 school year, but most recently he was director of business affairs for Eastland-Fairfield Career and Technical Schools in Columbus.
Originally from Washington Court House, Ohio, he received his bachelor's degree from Wittenberg University, where he played varsity football and baseball.
He received his master's degree from the University of Dayton.
Hobbs then taught at Grayhill Elementary School and Kenton Ridge High School, both in Springfield, before serving as assistant principal for five years a Chillicothe High School.
He was also the principal at Greenville High School for two years prior to accepting the post at Sidney.[[In-content Ad]]
