Honor loved ones on Memorial Day
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
Memorial Day is almost here, and most of us will be putting flowers on our loved one's graves. While you are there, take a look around and see how much work it takes to make whatever cemetery you are in look as nice as it does.
If you have family there, there you have an obligation to help keep it looking nice. If you are able to help when they have clean-up days, do so. If that's not an option, then donate some money. No amount is too small and it will be greatly appreciated.
For me, it's Reitenour and Lawndale west of Deerfield in Randolph County.
No matter where your family is buried, won't you at least consider helping in some way?
Contact someone on whatever cemetery board that applies to you.
Whatever you do you'll feel better for it.
Contact information and donations for Lawndale and Reitenour Cemeteries may be sent to: Becky Edwards, 7660 North U.S. 27, Ridgeville, IN, 47380.

To the editor:
It's great you print obituaries at no charge, as many newspapers require a fee. The Commercial Review on Wednesday, May 19 printed the William Salmon obituary stating that as a World War II veteran he was a recipient of the EAME Theater Ribbon.
Few people, outside of World War II veterans who served in Europe, have a clue as to the meaning of EAME.
I feel it would have been proper and rewarding to recognize Mr. Salmon as having served in the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign.
