Inaugural tour a success
Letter to the Editor
To the editor:
Sunday, June 12, was a glorious day for a Home and Garden Tour, and the buzz this week from all who participated indicates that it was a real success.
The Jay County Historical Society would like to thank all those who helped make it a special event.
First of all, thanks to Sandy Bubp and her committee for the ideas, planning and hard work. Thanks to the generous homeowners who opened their homes and gardens and tirelessly gave tours and answered questions over the six hours of the event.
Thanks also to the many sponsors who donated money and services and the folks who provided informational displays at the garden party. A special thank you goes to The Commercial Review for the editorial plug. This was a wonderful collaborative event with volunteers from the Plant, Hoe and Hope garden club, Youth Services Bureau, and the Historical Society. Our hope would be that this inaugural event will become an annual one with improvements every year.
Once again we are reminded of Jay County’s generous nature and the board and our members appreciate your support.
