Indian girls earn split
FRMS track
FORT RECOVERY - Abby May and Stacy Stammen each won a pair of events Friday as the Fort Recovery Middle School girls track team finished second as host of a three-team meet.
The Tribe girls scored 55 points to finish behind Russia (67) and ahead of Franklin Monroe (34). The Indian boys were last with 34 points behind Russia (62) and Franklin Monroe (60).
May led a one-two finish for Fort Recovery in the 200-meter hurdles, finishing ahead of teammate Stephanie Hart in 31.7 seconds. She posted a winning time of 13.6 in the 100 dash.
Stammen powered the Indians in the throwing events, taking the discus by more than five feet at 56 feet, 10 inches. She added a winning toss of 22 feet, 3 inches in the shot put.
Josh Pohl added a pair of wins for the boys team, earning the top spot in the 800 run in 2-minutes, 23.7 seconds. He was first by nearly 15 seconds in the 1,600 run at 5:07.3.
The only other FRMS victory of the evening came in the boys pole vault, where Mitch Vagedes won at 8 feet, 6 inches.[[In-content Ad]]
