Indian girls open vs. ’Cats (02/13/06)

The sectional draw brought five-win teams for both Fort Recovery’s boys and girls Sunday.
The Indian girls will open sectional play at New Bremen Tuesday, February 21 against Spencerville at 6:15 p.m. The Tribe boys will play Marion Local at Coldwater Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 6:15 p.m.
Fort Recovery’s girls (14-5), seeded third, play the first of two semifinal games against Spencerville (5-13). The other semifinal game will pit St. Henry (7-11) against Minster (7-12) at 7:45 p.m.
The top two seeds — Marion Local (14-4) and No. 6 New Knoxville (18-1) — earned first-round byes. The Fort Recovery/Spencerville winner will play New Knoxville Saturday, Feb. 25 at 6:15 p.m. with the St. Henry/Minster winner to follow against Marion Local at 7:45 p.m.
The two sectional winners will move on to the district tournament at Coldwater Thursday, March 2.
The Indians did not play Spencerville this season. They are, however, responsible for New Knoxville’s only loss, having beaten the Rangers 47-36 Jan. 12.
Fort Recovery’s boys (6-10) open against the team with the worst record in the sectional grouping as Marion Local enters at 5-11. The other semifinal game at Coldwater will pit Minster (11-6) against Waynesfield-Goshen (8-10) at 7:45 p.m.
The Fort Recovery/Marion Local winner will play 10th-ranked New Bremen (15-3) Friday, March 3, at 6:15 p.m. The Minster/Waynesfield-Goshen winner will get No. 9 New Knoxville (14-4) at 7:45 p.m.
The winners will advance to district play at Wapakoneta.
