NEW KNOXVILLE, Ohio — The Indians just hope they can be as good in 2005 as they were in 2004.
Fort Recovery’s eighth grade girls basketball team was a perfect 6-0 in the old year, and opened 2005 with yet another win by a 45-40 score over the New Knoxville Rangers. The seventh graders (6-1) also started the new year with a victory, 32-19.
The Tribe eighth graders trailed by 10 at the half, but were undeterred. They outscored New Knoxville by five in the third quarter and 16-6 in the fourth to grab the win.
Anne Koesters notched a pair of team highs as she finished with 15 points and eight rebounds. Joanna Snyder matched her as she also scored 15 points.
Kinsey Wenning added nine points and seven rebounds.
Fort Recovery’s seventh grade team also owned the second half. It broke a halftime tie by outscoring the Rangers 12-2 in the third quarter to pull away.
Emily May led the way with 10 points, and Nicole Pottkotter added eight. Josie Guggenbiller had six points and five rebounds, and Chelsey Leuthold also scored six points.[[In-content Ad]]
