Indian girls take 5th at Eaton (09/16/2008)
FRHS cross country
EATON, Ohio - The Fort Recovery High School girls cross country team placed fifth Saturday at the Eaton Invitational.
The Indians scored 134 points, finishing 33 ahead of sixth-place Botkins and 55 behind fourth-place Fort Loramie. Minster won with 34 points in the 11-team field.
The FRHS boys were 14th out of 15 teams with 333, finishing ahead of Seven Hills. Russia was first with 62 points.
Tina Roessner paced the Tribe girls, finishing in 16th place with a time of 21-minutes, 42.08 seconds.
Alexis Sutter followed in 27th in 23 minutes flat, and Nicole Heitkamp was 32nd in 23:11.
Amber Heitkamp crossed the line in 23:47 for 39th place, and Casey Backs was 15 seconds behind her in 41st.
Ryan Heitkamp earned the top position for the Fort Recovery boys with a time of 19:09 for 30th place. Caleb Heitkamp was 53rd in 20:10 followed by Mathias Koester (72nd - 21:07), Adam Pohl (89th - 22:48) and Zach Guggenbiller (95th - 23:32).
Junior high
Josh Pohl placed fourth in 11:49 and Nathan Fullenkamp was seventh at 11:53 to lead the Fort Recovery boys (134) to a third-place finish out of 16 teams behind Kings (77) and Covington (109).
Abby May led the Tribe girls (192) to seventh out of 17 teams as she placed seventh in 13:26.
Derek Sutter was next for the Indian boys in 21st at 12:49. Marshal Hull placed 53rd in 13:32, and Calvin Kaiser was 57th at 13:35.
Samantha Tobe finished 23rd for the FRMS girls in 14:04, and Jessica Vogel placed 32nd with a time of 14:30. Elle Sutter was 56th in 15:30, and Emily Kahlig took 89th at 17:10.[[In-content Ad]]
