Indian spikers roll over Mississinawa (08/27/03)
Fort volleyball
Joscie Kaup had an outstanding match as she led the Fort Recovery volleyball team to a 15-2, 15-3 trouncing of the Mississinawa Valley Blackhawks in its first match of the season.
Kaup scored 11 points for the Indians, more than any other two players on the team combined. She was aided by a team-high five aces.
She also led the team with 10 assists.
Senior Jenn Stahl and junior Krystal Rammel shared a team-high with four kills apiece, and Rammel added a pair of blocks. Olivia Post and Renee Schmackers each scored five points.
Fort Recovery’s junior varsity team also handled the Blackhawks easily in a 15-0, 15-3 win.
Ciera Rammel racked up a huge 15 service points in the victory. Kristen Schwieterman had three digs and a pair of kills.
Julie Link paced the team with three kills, and Brenda Rindler added a pair of digs. Jennalee Post notched nine assists.
Fort Recovery will go into battle again at Parkway Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
Fort 8th wins, 7th falls
Fort Recovery’s middle school volleyball teams battled the Parkway Panthers Thursday, with the eighth grade team scoring a 15-13, 4-15, 15-8 victory while the seventh grade team lost 15-9, 15-11.
Angie Wenning kept tallying points for the eighth grade squad, finishing with 13. Heath Schmackers had 16 assists to go along with a pair of kills.
Jill Pottkotter matched her for a team-best with two kills of her own, and picked up one block. Sarah Braun had three digs, and Wenning added a pair.
In seventh grade action Kelsey Wuebker scored five points, and dished out four assists. Kinsey Wenning followed with four points.
Kelly Sudhoff and Melissa Tobe each had three digs, and Anne Koesters had a block.[[In-content Ad]]
