Indians 7th at Loramie (09/12/07)
Fort Recovery cross country
FORT LORAMIE, Ohio - With one of its top runners out of the lineup Tuesday, the Fort Recovery High School girls cross country team finished in the middle of the pack at the Fort Loramie Invitational.
The Indians, running without junior Tina Roessner, placed seventh out of 14 teams with 173 points. The host Redskins were first with 57, and Versailles placed second at 62.
The Tribe boys were 14th out of 16 teams with 377 points. Russia won the meet with 68 points, and Lehman Catholic (75) was second.
Mindy Vogel followed up on her win Saturday at the Spencerville Invitational with a fourth-place finish at Fort Loramie. The Tribe senior was less than three seconds behind Fort Loramie's Kara Gasson as she finished in 20-minutes, 26.91 seconds.
Roessner, who missed the meet because of an illness, is a regular top-10 finisher along with Vogel and likely would have put the Indians in contention for a place among the top four teams at the meet.
