FRHS boys basketball

SPENCERVILLE, Ohio - The Indians made life tough on their hosts Saturday night, forcing the Spencerville Bearcats to play from behind all night.

Fort Recovery's boys basketball team jumped out to a 12-4 lead and never trailed, even track-meet second-half which saw the teams combine score 84 points and shoot 57 percent. The Tribe's 70-63 victory capped their regular-season record at 12-8, and sends it to the tournament on a three-game winning streak.

The Indians will play top-seeded and Division IV No. 1 New Knoxville for a sectional title Friday, March 2, at Coldwater at 6:15 p.m.

After leading by double-digits in the first half, Fort Recovery's advantage was at five points at the intermission and slipped to just two midway through the third quarter. But, back-to-back 3-pointers by Clint Tobe and Bobby Rammel followed by a hoop from senior Tony Diller gave the Indians a quick 8-0 run to push the lead back out to 43-33.
