COLDWATER, Ohio - The Indians no-hit Franklin Monroe Monday. They almost ended up on the reverse end a day later.
Fort Recovery's baseball team managed just one hit in suffering its first loss of the season Tuesday, falling 4-0 to Sam Slavik and the Coldwater Cavaliers.
Slavik dominted the Tribe (5-1), allowing only a single to Curt Heitamp. He struck out 11 batters, including three Indians twice, walked four and had one hit by pitch.
Coldwater took the lead with two runs in the first inning and added single tallies in the second and fifth. Clint Tobe allowed four runs - three earned - on eight hits in suffering the loss.
Junior varsity
The Indians came up with three hits as they were also shut out by Coldwater, 10-0 in six innings.
Jordan Hess took the defeat, allowing five runs - two earned - on five hits and four walks in five innings.
Brady Kahlig, A.J. Backs and Greg Kahlig had one hit apiece for Fort Recovery, and John Lauber drew a walk.[[In-content Ad]]
