Indians fifth at Tiger Classique (03/31/08)

Holly Brunswick had a big day Saturday in her debut.
The freshman posted three top-four finishes as the Fort Recovery girls track team finished fifth in the season-opening Tiger Classique hosted by Versailles.
The Indians scored 71 points to finish 10 ahead of sixth-place Russia at the eight-team Orange Division. Minster cruised to the title with 178 points, and Fort Loramie was second at 123.5.
Other winning teams were the host Tigers in the White Division and Vandalia Butler in the Black Division.
Brunswick turned in an impressive day, with her top finish coming in the 100-meter hurdles. She finished as the runner-up in 18.3 seconds.
She added a third-place effort in the long jump at 14 feet, 7¾ inches, and was fourth in the high jump at 4 feet, 8 inches.
Sophomore Beth Muhlenkamp also posted a runner-up effort in the high jump. She finished in a tie for second by clearing the bar at 4 feet, 10 inches.
Tina Roessner, a junior, trailed only a pair of runners from state power Minster in the 3,200 run. She posted a third-place time of 12-minutes, 38.4 seconds.
Adding fourth-place results for the Tribe were Anne Koesters in the discus (95 feet, 1 inch) and Amber Heitkamp in the 300 hurdles (54.3).[[In-content Ad]]
