Indians honored
FRHS softball/baseball
Three Fort Recovery High School seniors earned first-team All-Midwest Athletic Conference honors Monday.
Pitcher Kinsey Wenning and shortstop Joanna Snyder were first-team softball players, and shortstop/pitcher Toby Metzger earned first-team honors in baseball.
Wenning finished the season with a 2.06 ERA in 81 1/3 innings pitched. She struck out 65 batters and had a 1.23 WHIP.
Snyder led the Indians with a .368 batting average. She had team highs of 14 runs and 10 stolen bases.
After missing his junior season with a knee injury, Metzger came back to lead Fort Recovery with a .345 batting average. He also paced the squad with 20 hits, 15 RBIs and six doubles.
Travis Hart, who hit .321 with 14 runs, and Greg Kahlig, who struck out 77 batters in 41 2/3 innings, earned second-team honors in baseball. Honorable mention went to Amy Hart and Carly Staugler for softball and Frank Thien for baseball.[[In-content Ad]]
