Indians roll over Arcanum (09/09/2008)

ARCANUM, Ohio - The Indians kept their record against non-MAC teams perfect with another victory Monday night.

Fort Recovery High School's volleyball team cruised past the Arcanum Trojans 25-11, 25-10, 25-13. The Tribe improved to 4-3 overall, with the three losses having come against Midwest Athletic Conference foes Parkway (twice) and Minster.

Nicole Pottkotter powered Fort Recovery to victory with 15 assists and 10 digs, both team highs. She also had eight points and three kills.

Kinsey Wenning turned in a team-high 10 kills, and Kelsey Wuebker had eight. Holly Brunswick scored 16 points, Emily May came up with nine digs and Anne Koesters recorded five blocks.

Junior varsity

The Indians evened their record at 3-3 with a 25-11, 25-9 victory over Arcanum.

Carly Staugler racked up a team-best 14 points, including six aces, and had nine assists. Nichole Kaiser scored six points, and Shelby Brunswick and Lauren Staugler each notched three kills.

Sarah Knapke finished with five digs, and Olivia Thien had four blocks.

Middle school

FORT RECOVERY - The eighth grade Indians improved to 4-2 with a 25-15, 25-13 win over the Celina Bulldogs. The seventh graders are still looking for their first victory after a 25-12, 25-9 defeat.

Janelle Schwieterman powered the Fort Recovery eighth graders with seven points, five kills and two assists. Chelsea Pottkotter had 10 points and two kills, and Amy Link finished with two kills, two assists and two blocks.

Becky Brockman had two points and a dig for the seventh grader team (0-6). Jackie Fullenkamp added two digs and one point.[[In-content Ad]]
