Indians top Tri-Village to improve to 3-1 (12/11/06)

FORT RECOVERY - Both teams' leading scorers went over 20 points, but Fort Recovery placed four in double figures Saturday.

Clint Tobe, Bobby Rammel, Aaron Kahlig and Tony Diller all scored more than 10 points for the host Indians in their 69-53 victory over the Tri-Village Patriots. The Tribe, which won just three of its first 10 games a year ago, is now 3-1 on the season.

Tobe racked up 21 points and 12 rebounds for Fort Recovery, which was in control throughout after opening a 12-2 lead to start the game. He also had three steals, three assists and a block.

The Indians pushed their lead to as many as 20 points in the second period and were up by 14 at the half. Their lead never slipped below double digits after the intermission, and Tony Diller gave them their biggest advantage - 67-46 - with a jumper late in the game.

Bobby Rammel, Aaron Kahlig and Diller joined Tobe in double figures, scoring 12, 11 and 11 points respectively. Rammel added seven rebounds as the small Indian squad earned a 38-30 advantage on the glass, and Toby Metzger had five assists and three steals.

Mark Wheeler led all scorers for Tri-Village with 22 points, and Ryan Buck followed with 13. However, no other Patriot scored more than six.

David Barger finished with 10 rebounds, and Tyler Greer had five boards and four assists.

Junior varsity

The Indians limited Tri-Village to 10 percent shooting in the second half and two fourth quarter points in their 57-31 victory.

Fort Recovery led by 10 heading into the final period in which it outscored the Patriots 18-2. Tri-Village shot just 2-of-21 after halftime.

Three Indians reached double figures with Tyler Jutte scoring a game-high 16 points. Jutte, Matt Braun and Brady Kahlig each grabbed four rebounds.

Frank Thien was a perfect 6-of-6 from the field for 13 points, and Wes Kahlig added 10 points. Thien also had five assists and five steals.

The Patriots were led by Tyler Evans with nine points and six rebounds.[[In-content Ad]]
