Jay's Rigby playing in Italy
Collegiate Check-up
A second former Jay County High School athlete has headed to Italy.
Tyler Rigby, class of 2006, left for Rome Thursday along with Indiana University-East men's basketball teammate Jacobe Edmondson for a 10-day trip with an American International Sports Tours team. Mitch Waters, a 2002 JCHS graduate, is currently living in Italy and playing professionally for the Sala Bangaza Baseball Club.
Rigby's trip includes five games against club-level teams in Rome, Florence, San Marino, Remini Beach and Como.
The junior became IU-East's all-time leading scorer this year. He earned NAIA All-America honorable mention, was named to the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference first team and was the Red Wolves' men's athlete of the year.
Dexter Shreve
Jay County - 2009
In addition to finishing third in the decathlon, he also was part of the Kent State University men's track team's Mid-American Conference championship 4x400-meter relay team.
Shreve ran the second leg of the relay as he, Matt Moffett, Destin Heasley and Brandon Bailey finished in 3 minutes, 12.58 seconds. They were more than two seconds ahead of the runner-up team from Eastern Michigan.
Josh Ludy

Came up with a hit to help the Baylor University baseball team to a 6-2 victory Tuesday over Dallas Baptist.
Ludy started at designated hitter and went 1-for-4 with a run. He is hitting .356, which is the third-best batting average on the team.[[In-content Ad]]
