During Brandon Reynard’s freshman season, Indiana Tech was an also-ran. He played a big role in turning the Warriors into the national champions.
The 2009 Jay County High School graduate finished in the top five in two events May 23 through 25, helping lead the Indiana Tech men’s team to the title at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships.
Reynard (pictured) ran his best time of the season in his lone individual event, the 400-meter hurdles. He finished the championship race fifth in 52.28 seconds, a half-second faster than his previous best this year.
The senior also teamed with Dareyus Person, Austen Barnes and Robert Rose to set a new school record in the 4x400 relay. They finished in 3 minutes, 9.39 seconds, to finish as the national runners-up while surpassing the record of 3:09.95 they set in April.
