JCC thanks Miller race supporters
Letters to the Editor
On July 21, the Jay Community Center held the second annual Dave Miller Memorial 5K Fair Walk/Run. We were pleased by the tremendous response. The race had 156 registered participants.
We are grateful for all who came out to honor Dave by lighting up the night.
It was a great event and would not have been possible without the tremendous amount of support that we received from the community. We want to thank the following sponsors for their support: Pastor of Westchester United Methodist Church, EP Graphics, Isagenix, Pampered Chef, McDonalds, Pak-A-Sak, Inman U-Loc, and Star Financial. We want to congratulate the overall winners of the 5K run: Dylan Cope and Nicole Powell. Thank you also to the committee that put this event together: Lori Bantz, April Wallischeck, and Laura Baldwin. We are also grateful for the many volunteers that helped during the evening including the Junior Fair Board, Jay County 4-H Clubs, Pat & Chrissy Kreig Family, Tim Johnson, and Dave Fullenkamp.
The Jay Community Center is committed to strengthening the health and social interaction of our community’s families through sports, recreation, and fitness. Events such as the Dave Miller Memorial 5K Fair Walk/Run are an excellent opportunity to accomplish this goal. Thanks to all that attended and be on the lookout for the next 5K and half marathon this fall.
Sincerely,
Jack Houck
