JCCA officials say thanks

Editor's Mailbag

By To the editor:-

The Jay County Christian Academy has been overwhelmed by the generosity of the Jay County community, caring individuals and businesses in Indiana.

JCCA has an advisory team make up of Rick and Dawn Guntle, Richard and Lavonne Hendee, Elizabeth Hudson, Dean and Jennifer Inman, Pastor Hugh and Sabrina Kelly, Jerry and Kim Nichols, Jeannine Poole, Reba Smith and Patty Walker. If it had not been for these individuals JCCA would not have become a reality. Many hours of intense meetings, organizing of advertisements and giving sacrificially of time has made it possible to accomplish this tremendous opportunity.

At this time we would like to publicly thank those who have been generous in giving to Jay County Christian Academy.

The Portland Foundation for the grant money for our classroom projects; Chester and Hilda Cheeseman for the books, teacher supplies and grant money from the Arthur Clinton and Eunice May Cheeseman Foundation for Christian Education; Roger and Bev Inman for the computer and printer; Matt Swartz for grow lights, aquarium and plants; Kim Thomas for the toys, tapes and books; a host of individuals who donated books, tapes and videos for our library; Larry and Sarah Smith for supplies for the aquarium; Rick Guntle for putting hard drives in our computers and networking them together; Larry and Jeannine Poole for hours of instructional time, for all their gifts, supplies, trips to Indianapolis to pick up equipment and the outdoor play gym; John and Brenda Franks for the swing set; Rod and Kris Wolford for the outdoor play set; Russ Clawson for making easels, bulletin boards and storage cabinets; Jeff Corle for making bulletin boards and easels; Richard and Lavonne Hendee for typing, the kitchen set, work-bench, easel and printer for the computer lab; Patty Walker for volunteering whenever needed; David and Marilyn Jetmore for the beautiful murals on the walls; Barry and Elizabeth Hudson for all their encouragement, advertisement and support; Randy and Ramonda Fisher for tables, chairs and overhead projectors; and Fellowship Baptist Church in facilitating our school.

We want to give special thanks to Pastor Hugh Kelly for having an incredible vision to start a Christian school centered on God’s word in Jay County.

We are very fortunate to have people and organizations in the community who support our school What an incredible opportunity of teaching God’s truth through education. God has given us three qualified teachers — Kay Corle, Jerry Nichols and Kris Wolford. We want to thank all the parents who are sacrificing for their children to attend JCCA.

Our mission is to prepare students for a lifetime of fruitful Christian service and quality education marked with excellence. Our vision is to raise up Godly generations of young people within a spiritual atmosphere.

We want our students to love the Lord with all their heart, mind, soul, strength and to serve Him in both their vocational calling and the local church.

The instructional goals for JCCA are the development of Godly integrity in a loving Christian environment and the provision of quality and challenging academic instruction. Jay County Christian Academy is anticipating and eagerly seeking what God has in store for the future. With God all things are possible.

With grateful hearts,

Pastor Hugh Kelly and Sabrina Kelly, school coordinator, for the Jay County Christian Academy Team
