JCPL participating in writing contest (03/07/07)

Jay County Public Library will be participating in the 13th Annual Reading Rainbow Young Writers and Illustrators Contest for kindergarten through third grade students.

Students need to submit an original story and art work to the library by Saturday, March 31.

Foundation meeting

The Fort Recovery Community Foundation board will have an informational meeting on April 1 at the Fort Recovery Middle School auditeria.

Doug Inman, executive director of The Portland Foundation, will be the guest speaker.

Law scholarships

Students attending law school may apply for the Glenn D. Peters 2007 Law Scholarship.

Hero celebration

The Fifth Annual Heroes of the Heartland Celebration will be held March 29 at the Horizon Convention Center in Muncie, with doors opening at 5 p.m. and the meal and program beginning at 6 p.m. Tickets are available for $30 each by calling the Hoosier Heartland Chapter at (765) 284-3361 or (800) 480-4403.

Pizza party

The Indiana Farm Bureau Inc. District 4 spring pizza party will be held Thursday, March 15, at 6:30 p.m. at Huntington College in Huntington.
