JC's Ludy leads the Bears

Collegiate Check-up

A Jay County High School graduate played a key role Friday as the Baylor University baseball team snapped its losing streak.
Josh Ludy, JCHS class of 2008, smacked a couple of hits and scored twice as the Bears halted a three-game skid with a 6-3 victory over Missouri.
The junior catcher ripped a one-out double to right-center field to drive teammate Dan Evatt as Baylor (22-20) broke a 2-all tie with a four-run fifth inning. He also singled and scored a run in the first inning.
Ludy hit a solo home run a day later in the Bears’ 10-1 loss to Missouri, and had a single and a run Tuesday in a 5-1 victory over Texas-San Antonio.
He has started all but five of Baylor’s 42 games this season and shares the team lead with eight doubles. He ranks second on the squad with 27 RBIs and third with a .299 batting average.
