Kahlig leads five-game run

The Oilers have put together five straight wins with a former Indian leading the way.
Fort Recovery High School graduate Greg Kahlig scored 14 points in the University of Findlay men’s basketball team’s 98-57 victory Saturday over Notre Dame (Ohio). He is the leading scorer for the squad, which is ranked ninth in Division II.
Kahlig shot 7-of-9 from the field against Notre Dame, hitting all of his two-point attempts. He added a team-high eight rebounds along with two assists and one block.
The sophomore had 11 points, three rebounds, one steal and one block Dec. 1 in a 78-64 victory over Northwood.
Kahlig leads the Oilers (6-1) in scoring this season at 13.6 points per game. He ranks fourth in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference at 2.1 steals per game, and also averages 6.3 rebounds.

Powered the Huntington University women’s basketball team Tuesday as it stopped a two-game skid with a 61-51 victory over Indiana South Bend.
Speed paced the Foresters (5-4) with 16 points, shooting 7-of-13 from the field with a pair of 3-pointers. She also had three rebounds, three assists and a steal.
The sophomore totaled 13 points, two steals and an assist Saturday in a 58-50 loss to Grace, and had 10 points, three rebounds, one assist and one steal Dec. 1 in a 64-57 loss to Marian.

Racked up a career-high 20 points Wednesday as the Ohio Northern University women’s basketball team handed Division III No. 24 Otterbein its first defeat.
Snyder shot 60 percent from the field (9-of-15) in the 52-50 victory for the Polar Bears (7-1). She also had two rebounds, two steals, one assist and one block.
The junior also had 14 points, seven rebounds and two assists Saturday as ONU dominated Muskingum 68-40.

South Adams – 2010
Helped the Huntington University men’s basketball team to an 80-64 victory Tuesday over Rochester.
Teeter hit a pair of 3-pointers and finished with eight points for the Foresters, who improved to 9-3. He had three points and one assist Saturday in a 77-75 loss to Grace.

Fort Recovery – 2011
Scored six points for the Edison Community College women’s basketball team Saturday in a 95-72 loss to Jackson.
Brunswick also had six rebounds and two assists in the defeat.
For the season, the freshman ranks third for the Chargers (5-2) averaging 10.4 points per game. She leads the team shooting 85 percent from the free-throw line, and also averages 4.6 rebounds.

Saw action for the Bethel College women’s basketball team Wednesday in its 78-37 slaughter of Trinity Christian.
