Kahlig puts in 15 points

As the Oilers continue to climb the ranks, Greg Kahlig continues to get better.
The 2010 Fort Recovery High School graduate racked up a career-high 15 points Nov. 23 as the University of Findlay men’s basketball team defeated Malone 92-87. The Oilers are 5-0 and the second-ranked team in NCAA Division II.
Kahlig came off the bench against Malone and went 5-of-9 from the field and 5-of-6 from the line in 21 minutes. In addition to his 15 points, he added two rebounds and an assist.
The freshman has averaged 18.4 minutes off the bench this season and is fourth on the team in scoring at 8.8 points per game. He his shooting 92 percent from the free-throw line and also has 17 rebounds, six assists, three steals and a block.
Tyler Rigby
Jay County – 2006
Scored 17 points Sunday for the Indiana University – East men’s basketball team as it rolled to an 87-67 victory over Rockford College.
Rigby shot 8-of-14 from the field and hit one-three-pointer. He also had four rebounds and two assists.
The senior, who ranks eighth in the NAIA in scoring and 22nd in 3-pointers, racked up 25 points Monday in the Red Wolves 103-80 loss to Division I foe IUPUI. He missed just three of his 14 field-goal tries and also had six rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Rigby finished with 18 points, seven boards and a steal Saturday when he played every minute of a 72-64 loss to Ohio Wesleyan.
IU-East finished 26th in this week’s NAIA Division II coaches poll voting.

Helped the University of Dayton volleyball team win its 22nd straight match heading into the NCAA Tournament.
Gaerke recorded four digs and one ace Friday as the Flyers rolled to a three-game win over Ohio. She finished the year with 54 digs, 34 kills, eight assists, eight blocks and seven aces.
Dayton (27-3) will take host Butler (21-9) in the opening round of the NCAA tournament Friday at 8 p.m. The event will be broadcast at http://www.ncaa.com/allaccess/?media=214614.
The Flyers’ only losses this year came against No. 3 Nebraska, No. 12 Minnesota and No. 14 Illinois. They are responsible for one of only two losses by 10th-ranked Northern Iowa.

Scored nine points Saturday to help the Huntington University women’s basketball team extend its record to 7-1.
Speed came off the bench to hit three field goals and 3-of-4 free throws for the Foresters in an 81-70 victory over Rio Grande. She added team highs of five steals and four assists as well as two rebounds in just 18 minutes of play.
The freshman also had two points, two rebounds and one assist Nov. 23 as Huntington defeated Marian 69-60.
Joanna Snyder

Finished with four points Wednesday as the Ohio Northern University women’s basketball team defeated Albion 62-43.
Snyder scored all of her points at the free-throw line, and added four rebounds and a block. She also totaled six points, four assists, four rebounds and two blocks Nov. 23 as the Polar Bears won 73-58 over Kenyon.
She is averaging 5.5 points per game this year and is 12-of-13 from the foul line.[[In-content Ad]]
