Kalley joins Arts Place
Taking Note
Lindsey Kalley has joined Arts Place as the group’s director of education.
Kalley, a native of Piqua, Ohio, has a bachelor of arts in studio art from Taylor University, Upland.
She and husband Justin operate a ceramics studio, Rosenbush Pottery, in Hartford City.
The director of education coordinates Arts in the Parks and CreativeWorks, among other programs. Kalley will also manage the galleries at Arts Place’s Portland location, 131 E. Walnut St.
MoneySmart
A series of programs has been scheduled at Jay County Public Library to mark “MoneySmart” week April 23-27.
All of the instructional programs are free.
Here is the schedule of events:

•Credit reports — April 23, 6 p.m. Brenda Hennigan, CrossRoads Financial Federal Credit Union.

Plant swap set
Herbs’ Friends garden club will host its 15th annual community plant swap Saturday, May 5, from 7 to 11 a.m. at Riverside Center, Decatur.
The center is located at 231 E. Monroe St. (U.S. 224 East).
The event is open to the public to sell, swap or purchase new plantings and cuttings.
Vendor space is availale.

Making a difference
Nominations are now being accepted for LifeStream Inc.’s annual Awards of Excellence.
The not-for-profit is accepting nominations to honor individuals, agencies or businesses that have made a difference in the lives of those in need.
Nominations may be made for:
•Chairman’s award — To an individual for positively impacting the lives of seniors or people with disabilities.
•Champion award — An individual who successfully advocated on behalf of seniors or people with disabilities.
•Focus award — An organization or individual who has put the spotlight on issues affecting seniors or people with disabilities.
•Golden Hoosier award — An individual 60 or older in East Central Indiana who has given a lifetime of service to his or her community.

Golden hunt
The Limberlost State Historic Site, Geneva, is hosting a Golden Easter Egg hunt for children on Saturday, April 7, beginning at 11 a.m.
Admission is $1 for each child 12-and-younger, while adults will be admitted at no charge.
