Kaup, Orange win three in a row (10/07/06)

With a Fort Recovery graduate continuing to lead the defense, the Syracuse women's volleyball team has put together a winning streak.

The Orange, paced on the defense by 2004 FRHS grad Joscie Kaup, have double their season win total over the last week with three consecutive victories to improve to 6-16. They put together wins against Big East rival Georgetown and in-state rivals Colgate and Binghamton.

Kaup had her best defensive match against the Hoyas Sunday, finishing with 28 digs. She also had two aces and an assist.

She had a well-balanced match Tuesday against Colgate with 16 digs, five assists and four aces, and notched 17 digs, two assists and two aces against Binghamton.

Kaup also posted 20 digs, three assists and one ace in Syracuse's loss to South Florida Sept. 29.

Alyssa Johnson

Jay County - 2006

Posted the third-best time for her Taylor University women's cross country team at the Greater Louisville Classic Sept. 30.

Johnson finished in 152nd overall with a time of 20-minutes, 22 seconds.

Jill Roughia

Jay County - 2005

Also competed at Louisville Sept. 30 where she notched the No. 4 time for the Huntington University women's cross country team.

Roughia placed 174th overall for the Foresters, finishing in 20-minutes, 57.66 seconds.

Jenny Gresla

South Adams - 2003

Worked hard against Kenyon, leading the Denison University women's volleyball team in digs and assists as it improved to 10-8 thanks to a three-game victory.

The setter had 38 assists in the 30-20, 30-23, 30-16 victory. She also came up with 17 digs.[[In-content Ad]]
