Projects earn CFF funding
Four area projects — including two in Jay County — received nearly $2 million Thursday in grant funds from the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs.
The town of Bryant was awarded a $600,000 Community Focus Fund grant for a sewer infrastructure project, while Jay County, which applied for the grant on behalf of Jay-Randolph Developmental Services Inc., received $440,000 for an expansion and renovation of its Portland headquarters.
Adams County was awarded a $397,152 grant to rehabilitate the Ceylon Covered Bridge. That project is part of an effort to develop a trail from Berne to Geneva. The bridge will be part of the trail system.
Also awarded a grant Thursday was the city of Winchester, which received $500,000 for downtown revitalization.
The grants are funded by the federal Community Development Block Grant program and administered by OCRA.
The grants, announced by Indiana Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman, totaled $13,895,255.[[In-content Ad]]
