Laux to run for school board seat (08/04/06)
A rural Portland resident is the first to file to seek a seat on the Jay School Board.
Ronald Laux, 2075 South Blaine Pike, filed a petition Thursday to seek the District 5 seat currently held by Doug Inman. That seat represents the townships of Jackson, Bearcreek and Wayne outside the city of Portland. Inman has said he does not plan to run for re-election.
Potential candidates may file their candidacy by submitting the proper petition and information to Jay County Clerk Jane Ann Runyon by Aug. 25. Petitions may be obtained in her office.
Other seats up for election this year are:
•District 1, city of Portland, the seat currently held by Bryan Alexander.
•District 2, the city of Dunkirk, currently held by Mike Shannon.
•District 3, representing the townships of Penn, Jefferson, and Greene, currently held by Jay Halstead.[[In-content Ad]]
