Legislation is stupefying
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
I always enjoy Jack Ronald's writing in the Commercial Review.
His editorial in the Jan. 21 edition of the paper — about House Bill 1048, which would allow firearms on school property — stunned me for lack of a better word.
I could not believe what I was reading.
In fact, I read the piece twice to make sure my eyes were not deceiving me.
The proposed legislation Ronald cited in his editorial is stupefying.
Ignorance is forgivable for it implies the capacity to learn.
Stupidity is doing that which defies logic, experience and common sense.
I won't say Rep. Jim Lucas (R-Seymour) is stupid, but he is, in my humble opinion, far from intelligent with this legislation.
Lets hope it never gets out of committee.
You did the public a service Jack by bringing this asinine piece of legislation to our attention.
