Lemonade 4 Soldiers event set
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
It has been a little over a year now since I started Lemonade 4 Soldiers to send care packages to soldiers overseas.
I have had so much support from individuals, businesses, churches, and organizations that I have been able to send more than 200 care packages and have raised more than $4500. That wouldn’t be possible without all the people that have helped me. I am very thankful for that.
It is so exciting when I get a letter of thanks from soldiers, when the mail comes if I can I will stop whatever I am doing to check the mailbox.
It makes me really happy to be able to know that I am helping servicemen and women. In fact, I am blessed to be able to get to send care packages to them while they are putting their lives on the line for our country.
On Friday (July 13) Lemonade 4 Soldiers will be open in front of the First Merchants Bank from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Women’s Life Chapter 680 of Albany is giving me a matching grant that day for up to $500.
I would love to be able to get the entire grant available to me. It is like getting free money. Please come enjoy a refreshing glass of lemonade and help support the troops all at the same time. I will have my scrapbooks full of letters from soldiers on displayif people would like to read them.
