Library staff thanks helpers
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
The staff members of Jay County Public Library wish to thank all who helped with the events surrounding the Oct. 3 visit by bestselling author Tess Gerritsen, including forensics program presenters trooper John Petro of Indiana State Police and detective David Shepherd of Portland Police Department, The Flower Nook, The Friends of the Jay County Public Library, Brenda DeWitt, WPGW and The Commercial Review.
We would like to thank Mary Clare Speckner of Bartholomew County Public Library who originally contacted Gerritsen about visiting Indiana. And we are deeply grateful to Gerritsen, who agreed to visit small-town libraries in Indiana at minimal cost to those libraries.
We also thank all those who participated in Jay County Reads 2013 by reading one or more of Gerritsen’s books, attending programs and activities and giving Gerritsen an enthusiastic and appreciative audience. Gerritsen’s talk was well-attended by the public, and she was a delightful presenter.
The staff of Jay County Public Library looks forward to offering more opportunities to serve the community with programs and presenters in the future. Let us know who you’d like to see and hear by stopping in at the library, calling, emailing or leaving us a Facebook message.
Sincerely,
Linda Shreve
