Light ceremony set Nov. 10

Editor's Mailbag

By To the editor:-

This is the 11th year for the Celebration of Lights at Jay County Hospital. Please come help us celebrate.

The lighting ceremony will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. in conference rooms A and B at the hospital. The evening will begin with entertainment and then we will go outside to watch the lighting of the trees and the hospital building. After the ceremony you are invited to the cafeteria for cookies, punch and more entertainment.

The Jay County Hospital Auxiliary sponsors this ceremony each year with the donations going toward Lifeline, an emergency response system that provides help 24 hours a day.

Lifeline is available to Jay County residents and to surrounding county residents if an emergency response center is not available. Subscribers pay $15 a month for the service.

Lifeline allows the elderly and/or handicapped to live in their own homes knowing that help is available when they push their help button.

Lights may be placed on trees for a donation of $5 per name or couple. A strand of lights may be purchased for $100 or an entire tree for $300.

Lighting a light is a way to honor a friend, to remember an anniversary or birthday, or as a memorial for a loved one. Names of the honorees will appear on scrolls in the lobby of the hospital during the holidays.

You still have time to make your donation. Forms are available at the hospital, banks and most businesses in Jay County.

It is a beautiful sight when all the lights are turned on and a good way to start your holiday season.

Come join us.

Nelle Hampson, for the Jay County Hospital Auxiliary Celebration of Lights Committee
