Local center needs our support
Letters to the Editor
I would like to remind everyone that January is Sanctity of Life month. This means any life, old or young. Especially the young and what the Pregnancy Care Center does for the young. They offer counseling and care for those who are unprepared for pregnancy or who are experiencing crisis pregnancies and so much more.
What people don't realize is this center offers all kinds of educational material to help you understand what you, as a mother, are going through and how to be a better parent. This includes both partners involved in this pregnancy. Fathers are learning right along with the mothers. They get lows of support and guidance, and as they read books or watch tapes they earn points for this. They can redeem those points for their babies' needs, whether it be food, diapers, clothes or dribs - whatever is available - making them responsible individuals.
All of this is done by and through volunteers and donations. They receive no government assistance in any form. This makes it possible for them to give to the needs of the whole person - soul, mind and body.
Anyone is welcome to stop anytime to find out what they are all about, pick up some literature, or ask questions. They welcome your interest and especially your involvement. Anything - time, donations, food or money.
This is your center that is helping to make better parents and responsible individuals out of the children; our children.
Help is needed now more than ever with the economy the way it is. Don't think your little bit won't help. It all does.
It begins with "one." Don't ever forget that it just takes one to lead.
And don't forget that Jan. 22 marked the 37th anniversary of the beginning of legalized abortion of babies (Roe v. Wade). More than 50 million babies have been aborted since this started. Babies that a loving couple would love to have.
Let's make a difference. I am asking you to get involved somehow, even if it is a monetary pledge so they can buy the necessary items needed for the little ones.
You can make a difference. Come and see.
