Local team says thanks to supporters (04/17/07)

To the editor:

Introducing the 2007 Indiana Aqua Blast. We are a 12 and under team that is going to Cooperstown, NY, to compete in tournament play.

Our team consists of players from Decatur, Monroe, and Berne.

We are truly looking forward to this opportunity which has been presented to us.

The Indiana Aqua Blast Baseball Team's mission statement:

"In whatever we do, we will give our best effort for The Lord. We will play as a team, one unified body made up of many important parts, and in our achievements we will boast not in ourselves, but in our Lord Jesus Christ. We will show good sportsmanship towards our opponents, umpires, and all fans."

Members of the 2007 Indiana Aqua Blast are: Alex Augsburger, David Baker, Jacob Bergman, Isaac Bransteter, Dylan Call, Dalton Combs, Blake Fox, Brett Hormann, Jordan Jauregui, Isaac Luginbill, Thomas Mitchem, Corey Seffernick, Mason Selking, and Aaron Teeter.

The kids listed above have been working hard since May of 2006 to raise the funds necessary to participate in this Cooperstown experience, which will include many tournaments and games leading up to our trip July 7-13, 2007.

Things the kids have worked to raise money - including two car washes, a home run derby, bake sale, chicken BBQ, and two concession stands.
