Ludy gets 2 hits for Baylor

A Jay County High School graduate came up with a pair of hits in the Baylor University baseball team’s first game of the Big 12 Tournament, but the Bears got knocked out with back-to-back losses.
Josh Ludy, JCHS class of 2008, had singles in the fifth and seventh innings of Baylor’s 6-2 loss to Oklahoma State in the opening round of the tournament Wednesday. The Bears (29-26) fell 6-1 to Texas a day later to drop out of the tournament.
Ludy led Baylor to a 3-2 victory in its final regular-season game Saturday against Oklahoma. He had two hits, including an RBI single through the left side in the bottom of the ninth inning that scored Steve DalPorto with the game-winning run.
The junior catcher also had a hit May 19 as the Bears won the first game of the series against Oklahoma 4-2, and added an RBI in a 5-4 loss to the Sooners on May 20.
Ludy has a .283 batting average and ranks second on the Baylor squad in hits (54), RBIs (31) and doubles (10).

Was one of 16 Huntington University athletes who were honored recently by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.
Adams, who plays for the Forester women’s tennis team, was selected as an NAIA Scholar-Athlete. Juniors and seniors who carrry a minimum grade point average of 3.5 are eligible for the award.

Joined 12 of her Indiana Tech teammates in being honored by the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference.
Edmundson, a pitcher and infielder for the Warrior softball squad, was named to the WHAC All-Academic team. Jordan Lehman, a South Adams High School graduate, also earned all-academic honors for Indiana Tech.[[In-content Ad]]
