Ludy helps spark streak

A Jay County High School graduate helped spark a three-game winning streak for the Baylor University baseball team.
Ludy, JCHS class of 2008, smacked three hits Saturday as the Bears defeated Oklahoma State 8-1. The squad added another win over Oklahoma State Sunday, and then topped Dallas Baptist 7-1 on Tuesday.
In Saturday’s victory, Ludy smacked an RBI single with no outs in the sixth inning. He came around to score on Jake Miller’s double to right-center field as part of Baylor’s seven-run frame.
He also had singles in the second and fourth innings in the win.
Ludy added a 2-for-3 effort in the Bear’s 5-3 victory Sunday over Oklahoma State. He is hitting .288 for the season and ranks second for the Bears in hits (49) and RBIs (29).

Brandon Reynard

Helped an Indiana Tech relay team to a second-place finish Friday at the men’s track Cardinal Twilight Classic hosted by Louisville.
Reynard anchored the Warriors’ 4x400-meter relay team, joining Jonathan Tims, Zac Chapman and Chris Brown for the runner-up effort in a time of 3 minutes, 15.11 seconds.
They were less than half a second in front of the squad from Wabash.
He also posted a time of 53.71 seconds for eighth place in the 400 hurdles.

Dexter Shreve
Jay County – 2009
Placed fifth in the decathlon for the Kent State University men’s track team, which finished as the runner-up behind Akron at the Mid-American Conference Championships hosted by Northern Illinois.
Shreve scored 6,667 points in the decathlon with his best effort in the event coming with a second-place finish at 10.91 seconds in the 100-meter dash. He was also fourth in the long jump (22 feet, 3 ½ inches), the high jump (6 feet, 2 ¾ inches) and the 400 dash (50.45).[[In-content Ad]]
