MAC honors seven Indians (02/27/08)

FORT RECOVERY - Seven Fort Recovery High School athletes were honored this week as members of the All-Midwest Athletic Conference basketball teams.

Greg Kahlig and Clint Tobe were named to the boys All-MAC first team, and Joanna Snyder and Anne Koesters were selected to the girls first team. Bobby Rammel and Nicole Pottkotter earned second-team honors, and Frank Thien pick up honorable mention.

Division IV No. 1 New Knoxville took both top awards as Tony Meyer took Player of the Year and Dan Hegemier as Coach of the Year.

Justine Raterman of Division III No. 1 Versailles was a unanimous choice for girls Player of the Year, and her sister and coach Jacki Stonebraker took the Coach of the Year award.

Kahlig, a sophomore, is one of the top scorers in the MAC at 16.9 points per game. He also leads the Indians with 6.5 rebounds per contest to go along with 38 assists, 29 blocks and 24 steals this year.

Tobe is second with 12.3 points per game for the Tribe, which plays tonight in district semifinal action against No. 8 Ada at Wapakoneta. He averages 4.8 rebounds and has 24 assists, 36 steals and 31 blocks on the season.

Snyder and Koesters, both juniors, lead the Indian girls in scoring and rebounds. Snyder averages 12.8 points and 6.1 rebounds per game while Koesters posts 10.6 points and 6.5 rebounds.

Rammel also scores in double figures for the FRHS boys at 10.2 points per game. Thien is the Tribe's lead in assists (49) and steals (37).

Pottkotter averaged 6.2 points and 3.7 rebounds for the Fort Recovery girls.[[In-content Ad]]
