MAC honors Tribe lineup (05/18/07)

COLDWATER, Ohio - A whole lineup of Indians earned honors.
Fort Recovery's baseball team got just one first-team selection, but finished with nine Midwest Athletic Conference honorees overall when the awards were announced Thursday.
A pair of Indian softball players also made the All-MAC list.
Sophomore Toby Metzger and junior Val Fortkamp led the list of Tribe honorees as they were selected as All-MAC first teamers in baseball and softball respectively.
MAC Players of the Year were Bob Inskeep of Minster and Tasha Stucke of Coldwater, both seniors, and Coach of the Year honors went to Mike Wiss of Minster in baseball and Jeff Kerr of Coldwater and Craig Griesdorn of New Bremen in softball.
Just about every Tribe starter joined Metzger, the left fielder, in earning MAC baseball honors.
Freshman pitcher Greg Kahlig, junior shortstop Clint Tobe and junior right fielder Curt Heitkamp were all second-team selections for the Indians, who will play MAC champion and Division IV No. 1 Minster in tonight's district championship game at Coldwater at 7 p.m. Earning honorable mention were seniors pitcher/first baseman Kevin Schoenherr, third baseman Tony Diller, center fielder Troy Metzger and designated hitter Scott Hein and junior catcher Bobby Rammel.
Senior shortstop Sandra Sudhoff also earned honorable mention for the softball team.[[In-content Ad]]
