Mailbox fixes getting costly
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
On Saturday, Oct. 15, someone was driving west on county road 300 North and hit our mailbox at 3416 East about 8:30 p.m. Actually, you hit a block that was on top of other blocks on a post, which was 5-feet tall.
That block came off the post and then you proceeded and hit the mailbox, too, and dragged pieces all over the road. A couple minutes later a car ran over a piece of the mailbox and did some damage to his car.
Mailboxes are not cheap to replace and insurance deductibles aren’t low enough to replace them.
This is at least the fourth time our mailbox has been hit and each time the sheriff’s department was called and it wasn’t published in the paper.

Memorial thanks
To the editor:
The Jay County Humane Society would like to take this opportunity to thank those who have made a donation to us in the memory of a deceased.
We are not always able to send a written thank you if the donation comes to us in cash without a note.
Such was the case with those who donated in memory of Larry Kunkle.
