Many helped after fall

Editor's Mailbag

By To the editor:-

To the Jay County Fair Board. At the fairgrounds on Wednesday evening at about 8:15 p.m., Eldon went downstairs and missed the bottom step and fell, cutting his forehead, which was bleeding. He sure had a black and purple eye started, but no one knew how bad he was hurt.

The fair board was all there to help, and they were also trying to find me upstairs. When I got downstairs, the eye was swelling very bad and bleeding.

Jane Ann Poole and another nurse were there to help. Jane Ann called the hospital to tell them we were coming in. They put ice on his head and eye, and helped us to get to our car.

Thank all of you very much.

When we got to the hospital we all had to sign in instead of taking Eldon back to the emergency room. It would have been too bad if his head and eye were worse than they were. Then the doctor came in and he never touched Eldon’s head. The nurse cleaned and put Neosporin on the cut and told me if he got sick to bring him back to the hospital.

On Aug. 3 I had to go to Vormohr Medical Center to see Dr. Frank Vormohr. He gave Eldon a better examination than he got at the hospital.

We need more doctors like Frank Vormohr that take their work seriously for the people of Jay County.

Thank you,

Marjorie and Eldon Stevens
