March for Jesus set

Editor's Mailbag

By To the editor:-

This is to all the Christians in Jay County who say that the churches need to begin to pray together for spiritual revival and awakening in the community and that we need to come out of the four walls of our church and let the world know that Jesus Christ is Lord. We want to invite you to the annual March for Jesus here in Portland.

In the last several years we have seen several hundred participants from 24 different denominations come together to march and pray on the streets of Jay County.

This march is sponsored by the Jay County Ministerial Association.

The March for Jesus is Saturday, September 20th at 11:00 a.m. Line up for the march begins at 10:30 a.m.

We will be meeting on the south side of the Haynes Park in Portland.

Jay County Ministerial Association and the Jay County visitor & Tourism Bureau will be sponsoring the First Annual Jay County Gospel Fest this September 20th from noon to 8:00 p.m. It is shaping up into quite an event and one I am sure will be of interest to all area churches.

There will be food booths, church booths, gospel music with several gospel quartets from around the State. There will be a youth band beginning at 12:00 p.m. There will also be family entertainment, a cakewalk, smile seekers clowns, balloons and face painting.

So come and join us, as the churches come together for the worldwide event to worship and lift the name of Jesus Christ up in our community. For more information call (260) 726-6247 or contact Gyneth Augsburger at the Jay County Visitor & Tourism Bureau at (260) 726-3366.
