FORT RECOVERY — None of the Flyers can be accused of being selfish.

Six different players scored touchdowns for the Division VI No. 10 Marion Local Flyers Friday night as they stomped Fort Recovery 64-13 in Midwest Athletic Conference football action.

Marion Local (5-2) got three scores in each of the first three quarters, including a second-quarter safety.

Two Flyers scored twice in the game with Marc Otte reaching the end zone on runs of 19 and 30 yards and Mitch Thobe grabbing touchdown receptions of 15 and 17 yards from quarterback Chris Stucke.

Josh Rosenbeck, Luke Homan and Kevin Schlarman each added rushing touchdowns, and Curtis Moeller caught a 6-yard touchdown pass from Stucke.

Otte finished with 75 rushing yards on six carries and Moeller had 66 yards on 13 carries as nine different Flyers toted the ball. They out-gained Fort Recovery (0-7) 244-70 on the ground and 364-98 in total offense.

Stucke went 11-of-13 through the air for 120 yards, hitting eight different receivers. Thobe caught four of those passes for 49 yards.

Fort Recovery’s first score came when it already trailed 58-0. Michael Trobridge capped a five-play, 70-yard drive when he got in the end zone on a 21-yard run with 1:44 left in the third quarter. Toby Metzger added a 12-yard TD run four minutes into the final period, ending an 80-yard drive which included a 45-yard run by Trobrdige.

Trobridge just missed the 100-yard mark, rushing 13 times for 95 yards. Metzger completed a pair of passes for 28 yards, one each to Travis VanSkyock and Tyler Rauh.[[In-content Ad]]
