May leads Indians
FORT RECOVERY - Abby May added two more wins Thursday as she led the Fort Recovery Middle School girls track team to victory again.
The Indian girls scored 93 points as they clobbered both Parkway (24) and New Knoxville (19).
The Tribe boys finished with 56 points, three behind Parkway with New Knoxville (35) in third.
May, who won two events in Fort Recovery's season opener Tuesday, took the 100-meter dash just a tenth of a second ahead of Parkway's Marissa Hunter in 14.2 seconds. She was also first in the 200 hurdles in 33.4.
Sierra Pugh also won a pair of events for the girls team. She finished first in the 400 dash in 1:09.5, and tied with teammate Alex Shelton for the top spot in the 200 dash in 30.5.
Josh Pohl was the lone double winner for the Indian boys, posting a first-place time of 2:28.8 in the 800 run. His second win came in 5:15.8 in the 1,600 run.
Jessica Kaiser (discus - 63 feet, 5 inches), Kelsey Fiely (high jump - 4 feet, 4 ΒΌ inches) and Jessica Vogel (800 run - 2:51) added wins for the girls team. Other victories for the FRMS boys came from David Trobridge (400 dash - 1:03.8), Nathan Fullenkamp (200 hurdles - 31.8) and Mitch Vagedes (pole vault - 8 feet, 6 inches).[[In-content Ad]]
