McConnell heads to Adams Central (05/15/08)
Jay County High School's assistant principal/dean of students has been hired as principal of Adams Central High School, Monroe.
Sean McConnell, who is in his first year as JCHS assistant principal, is replacing Bill Hartman, who is leaving to work at Blackhawk Christian School in Fort Wayne. Members of the Adams Central School Board voted unanimously Tuesday to hire McConnell, a Portland resident.
McConnell, 41, served as assistant principal of East Jay Middle School from 2004 to 2007. He is a 1985 graduate of Huntington North High School. He graduated from Ball State University with a bachelor's degree in U.S. history, and a master's degree in educational administration. He did his administrative internship at Riverview Middle School in 2004.
He has taught U.S. History, geography and world civilizations at HNHS from 1998 to 2004, where he also served as girls' varsity soccer coach from 1998-2000. He was assistant wrestling coach during the 2000 school year.
McConnell was slated to be the Jay County High School's girls' soccer coach at JCHS for the 2008-2009 school year.
He and his wife Felicia have three sons and two daughters, ages 3 to 15.[[In-content Ad]]
