Miller races to victory

Eme Miller cruised to victory. But her former teammate and the rest of the Spartans took care of the rest of the top 13.
Miller, a 2012 Jay County High School graduate, finished first Friday for the Defiance College women’s cross country team, but they lost 20-43 in a dual meet to Megan Taylor (JCHS – 2011) and her Manchester University squad.
Miller dominated the field in the 6K race, winning in 25 minutes, 48.2 seconds.
She was more than 35 seconds faster than runner-up Mariah Jordan (26:30.5) of Manchester.
Taylor finished off the run of 12 straight Spartans crossing the line as she placed 13th. She posted a time of 28:44.3.

Picked off a pass Saturday to help the Taylor University football team to a 58-7 victory over visiting Anderson.
Wanner intercepted a pass from Chandler Farrow at the Taylor 3-yard line in the fourth quarter. He also made four tackles.
Hannah Moore

Led the Huntington University women’s cross country team Friday at the Walt Crawford Invitational hosted by Eastern Illinois University.
Moore was the top runner for the Foresters, who finished in seventh place out of 13 teams, with a time of 19 minutes, 44.14 seconds, for the 5K race.[[In-content Ad]]
