Missing Dorothy on Saturddays
Editor's Mailbag
By To the editor:-
A great lady has passed away. And we are saddened by our loss. Dorothy Warner delighted us every Saturday morning with her timely news column. It was a nice way to end the work week as she talked about her present and past experiences.
Her literary style was smooth, fresh and engaging. She told it like it was about life, history, opinions of the present, and an optimistic insight for the future.
Where the pioneers of old left their mark of their efforts to found a new country in America, she picked up the challenges of a new nation and proceeded to educate her fellow citizens. She became a teacher of uncommon ability and professionalism. She transformed the written word into a three-dimensional entity.
It would be a privilege to find her news columns of the past in the newspaper. They were real gems, indeed.
Thanks Mrs. Dorothy Warner for being you. We’ll take the straight path in life and stop to smell the flowers once in a while.
Peace.
Sincerely,
Joseph Z. Toth
