Lucterhand
Merle E. Lucterhand, 89, 1968 South Woodland Park Drive, Portland, died this morning at Miller's Merry Manor in Dunkirk. Arrangements are pending at Baird-Freeman Funeral Home in Portland.
Lewis Grimm
Nov. 18, 1923-Nov. 30, 2008
Lewis H. Grimm, 85, 34 Sesame St., Portland, died Sunday at Jay County Hospital.
Born in Jay County to Lewis and Hazel (Reed) Grimm, he was married on Aug. 7, 1948, to Rose C. Harpring, who died on May 29, 1987.
A veteran of the United States Army, he was a barber and had worked at Sheller-Globe.
Memberships include American Legion Post No. 211.
Survivors include a son, Charles Grimm, Decatur; two daughters, Mrs. Bill (Carol) Rathbun, Portland, and Marie Roesler, Iowa City, Iowa; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services are Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Portland with the Rev. Robert Moran officiating. Burial will be in Center Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by American Legion Post No. 211.
Visitation is Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Baird-Freeman Funeral Home in Portland.
