Gee folks, wasn’t it nice to read “Big winner,” (Commercial Review, 12-20-04) on the front page of our hometown paper, instead of a story about who got arrested for what today?
“Big winner” is a story paying tribute to one of our fine young students being honored for his work. Stories about the bad that goes on in our area could just as well be inside the paper or on the back page, for those who want to read them.
With all the schools, sports, volunteering, clubs, churches, etc. going on in Jay County every day, why do we have room in our hometown paper for pictures of someplace in Montana or elsewhere.
Our Portland, Dunkirk, Redkey, Pennville, Bryant, Salamonia, Fiat and everywhere in between children, adults and even old folks are active every day at something. Doesn’t someone at The Commercial Review have a camera and a note pad from our area for our paper?
Jay County activities are newsworthy to Jay County residents.
