Move set for FRHS?
Fort Recovery School Board
FORT RECOVERY - A new high school wing will be added to this community's pre-kindergarten through grade eight building if the state approves and a local bond levy referendum is successful.
Fort Recovery School Board members unanimously passed a resolution Tuesday to notify the Ohio School Facilities Commission of plans to go ahead with the project, which has been among the options under consideration for nearly six years. The action follows two community input sessions.
The state is expected to act on the plan by July, which would allow time for a bond levy proposal to be placed on the November ballot if approved by the Fort Recovery School Board in August.
Designs for the new high school wing are being developed by Garmann/Miller Architects.
In other action Tuesday, the board:
•Accepted a $12,000 donation from the Fort Recovery Athletic Boosters for a high school gym scoreboard. Cooper Farms, Fort Recovery Lumber Company, and JR Manufacturing each donated $4,000 to bring the project together.
•Approved Amy Welling, Beth Fullenkamp, Jessica Jutte, Michelle Stammen, Valerie Jutte, Julie Brookhart, and Kimberly Link as summer school teachers.
•Approved supplemental contracts for high school football assistant coach Zachary Sudhoff, girls basketball head coach Doug Bihn, girls basketball junior varsity coach Chris Summers, girls basketball freshman coach Lori Pottkotter, junior high girls basketball coach Dan Stammen, high school basketball cheerleader adviser Kristy Fiely, and high school football cheerleader adviser Stephanie Stachler.[[In-content Ad]]
