A rush of late filers have padded the ballot for elections this fall in Bryant and Salamonia.

A total of seven candidates filed to run as Independents in the two towns Thursday and Friday.

A total of three candidates joined the race for a council seat in Bryant, along with two new names on the ballot for clerk-treasurer.

Joining the race for Bryant Clerk-Treasurer were Tavia N. Boolman, 306 E. Main St., and Tara Leese, 107 S. Meridian St.

The addition of Kahn, Miller and Boice makes for a field of six Independents running for Bryant council.

Four candidates, also all Independents, are running for Clerk-Treasurer.

Putting their names on the Salamonia council ballot Friday were Charles "Stan" Keen, 5744 East 400 South, and Bruce Smith, 5881 East North St.

They join three other Independents in the race.
