New Fort police car on the way (2/20/04)
FORT RECOVERY — A 2004 Crown Victoria has been ordered to replace the 1997 model the police department here uses, village administrator Randy Diller told village council members this week.
The car was ordered from Statewide Ford in Van Wert, Ohio at a cost of $19,892. The cruiser should be in use in about 90 days, Diller said Tuesday.
The 1997 vehicle has been posted for sale on several web sites, and Diller said there have been two purchase inquiries from Ohio villages and one inquiry from a town in Michigan, which are awaiting approval from their councils. The car will be sold for $7,500 with interior equipment and the light bar or for $6,500 without that equipment.
Also Monday, Diller discussed the village’s trash collection contract with the council. The current three-year contract with Maharg Trash Service of Celina ends on March 31. The village currently pays $1 per trash bag collected and 65 cents per curbside recycling bag.
Diller said the contract will probably be renewed at the same cost, although no negotiations have taken place yet.
The council also passed two resolutions approving two monthly transfers of funds.[[In-content Ad]]
